Week 37 Appointment

I had my 37 week appointment today. I'm not dilated but that's a good thing at 37 weeks. Zander has moved down and is starting to get into position. It's kind of exciting because Logan never tried to move into position. It would be nice if I could go into real labor a couple of days before the schedule c-section and he could come the real way. It would make things a lot easier with Logan. Currently I'll be in the hospital for 3 nights and won't be able to see Logan that entire time. Because of the H1N1 scare there are no visitors at the hospital under the age of 18. I also won't be able to pick up Logan after the surgery. If I can have a vaginal delivery I would only be in the hospital for a day maybe two and I'd be able to pick up Logan afterwords. The doctor said there are some things she can do next week or the week after to try and help things along. It will just depend of if my body actually cooperates this time.

36 Weeks, only 3 more to go

Went to the doctor on Wednesday. Zander is doing great and had a heart rate of 140. My blood pressure was really good and the doctor said everything is going as planned. I'm not dilated or anything yet but I wouldn't really be. I've been feeling contractions this pregnancy which I don't remember feeling last time. They are just braxton hicks and are more annoying than anything else. They give me hot flashes and cramping and it's hard to focus at work. There are less than 3 weeks before he comes so I guess I can deal with it.

Getting big

I'm starting to get pretty big and now Logan almost rests on Zander when I pick him up. When Logan tries to sit on my lap now he has to sit more sideways and Zander often kicks where Logan is touching, it's kind if funny.

32 weeks

We have now hit 32 weeks. It's crazy there is only 7 more weeks to go. The time is really flying by. On Friday we went back to the specialist for another ultrasound. Zander is doing great and is about 4.5lbs now. The kidneys looked good and the doctor said there were no issues. It was fun to see him and we got 4D pictures.

Only 9 weeks more to go

Amazingly enough we only have 9 weeks left until Zander is born. This pregnancy seems to be going by a lot quicker than the last one. Of course I have a lot more going on with school, work and Logan. Zander has been moving like crazy. I forgot how cool and weird feeling the baby move is. I've been doing well this pregnancy and have had very little problem. Last week they were concerned about my platelet count and I had to give a lot of blood. I went to the doctor yesterday and they said everything was looking good now. They gave me the vaccination for H1N1 flu virus. It's been a big deal this year and a lot of people have been sick. None of us have been sick so that's been really nice. I'm starting to feel big and getting sick of people comments telling me that I'm starting to look big. I wish they would realize even pregnant women do not want to be considered big. I'm trying to do a better job at watching how much weight I gain in this pregnancy. Last time I gained 50 lbs and I really don't want to do the same this time. The hardest thing is eating healthy at home. Often times when I get home I'm tired and don't feel like making anything and we end up eating junk food. Mike-e and I just need to work harder at eating better. I know I need to post more pictures of myself but I need to actually take some. We just seem a lot busier this time and the pictures don't happen. When I get some I'll update the blog.

Update

So it's been awhile since I wrote in this blog. We've decided to go with Zander with a "z" for the name. It's nice to have a decision on the name this early in the game. It's easier to talk about him with a name. My ultrasound with the specialist went well. The cranial cyst was almost gone. The doctor said to come back after 30 weeks because the kidneys looked a little dilated but I'm going to check with my ob/gyn at my next visit. From what I've read online, some places will tell you about the kidneys just to get you to come back. My next appointment in on Oct. 13th and that's when they'll do the glucose test. I've been feeling pretty good, just had some back pain. Of course I'm picking up an 18 month old on a regular basis. We are currently at 26 weeks, it's hard to believe in 14 weeks we'll have two kids. It's amazing how fast the time goes by.

20 Weeks- IT'S A BOY

Today we went to the doctor for the 20 week appointment. They did the ultrasound and told us we are having another boy. I am so excited and it was nice to see the baby. He was very active and kept moving as they were taking pictures. We even got to see him in 4-D which was a little weird. The face didn't look real in the 4D but the hands were really cool. They did say that the baby has a cranial cyst and we would need to have another ultrasound later to see if it had gone away. They also did took some blood from me to test for genetic disorders. The doctor said not to worry about the cyst since it's very common and rarely means anything is wrong. I remembered they actually noticed the same thing on Logan's ultrasound so I'm not too concerned. I talked to Mike-e about the baby's name. Originally we had decided to go with Alexander Paul so we could call the baby Lex. As we've been talking we decided we like the name Zander/Xander (not sure how we'll spell it yet) better. I don't want to name him Alexander just to always call him something else. My parents did that with my name and it was always frustrating at school to be called by my legal name. When we decide on a spelling then I'll update the name of the blog. I'm used to seeing it as Zander and Mike-e is used to Xander. Either way we are happy we are having a boy and can't wait until he is here. I'm sure the time will fly by since we are halfway there and it's already gone by so quickly.

12 Week appointment

I had my 12 week appointment 2 weeks late. The baby's heart rate was good, 160. Everyone wants me to have a girl so they are reading into the heart rate but Logan's was always 158. the doctor asked if I wanted to have the baby this year and I said yes so she already scheduled the c-section. It's going to be Dec. 31st at 7:30 in the morning. It's nice to have a date but it also makes me want to have the time go by faster. I know it will be here before I know it but something about the date just makes me want it now. It's already the middle of July and we'll find out if the baby is boy or a girl in a month. My next appointment is July 30th, so I'll update this if I have any new news.

First Doctor Appointment

I went to the doctor's today and had the baby's first ultrasound. I'll post them once I get them scanned in but there's not much to them. It was cooler to go because I could see the heartbeat on the screen. The nurse said everything looked good and the heart beat was 158. The office seems nice but I still haven't met the doctor since I met with the nurse practitioner today. I really liked her and the appointment wasn't awkward despite what the appointment was. They said based on the size of the baby they would put the due date as Jan. 13th but based on my timing it would be Jan. 6th. Since it's only a week difference they are going with Jan. 6th. I'm hoping to have a scheduled c-section on Dec. 30th. I will be delivering at Sky Ridge, which is a lot closer to our house. That will be nice with taking care of Logan. I guess it's really official, we are having baby number two. Yeah!

6 weeks

So I'm now 6 weeks along in pregnancy number 2. It's still hard to believe I'm pregnant. If I had extra pregnancy test I'd probably keep taking them just to remind myself it's real. The experience is so surreal. It will be nice when I go to the doctor and they confirm the pregnancy and I can see pictures. This is probably the only time in life when you want to go to the Gyno. I've been feeling great and have been keeping active. I rode my bike to work on Wednesday and then went bouldering afterwords. I want to do a better job with this pregnancy with the weight gain. Last time I gain 50 lbs and it took awhile to lose. If I could stick to the recommended 25-30lbs this time it would work out a lot better. I'm going to the doctor on June 1st so I'll have to update the blog with pictures and notes.

Happy Mother's Day

Today I found out I'm pregnant. This is the best mother's day present ever. I'm so excited. The baby should be due Jan 6th.

New blog for a new baby

I'm starting this blog for our eventual baby #2. I'm not pregnant yet but we are trying. I thought I'd get a jump start on this blog since I started late in the game with the last one. I also wanted to make sure I had one for the next baby so there are no hard feelings between the kids.
