Quick update

So this won't be a pretty post but I wanted to take note of some things in Zander's life before I forget.
*Today Mike-e went in to get Zander and he was sitting up in his crib. This is the first time he's gone from laying down to sitting on his own.
*Last week he started saying "ball" and it's so cute to hear him talk. It is really clear and understandable.
*He knows has 8 teeth and more might be on the way because he's been drooling.
*His tear duct is still clogged so we are going to schedule an appointment with a specialist to get it cleared up.
*He loves to army/scoot all around the room and has been getting into the dog's food and water dishes.
*He loves to eat and is not picky at all. I cannot think of anything he hasn't wanted to eat except for rice cereal and who can blame him. That stuff is gross.
*He also enjoys hanging out with his brother and for the most part they are really good friends. There have been times when Logan wants a toy Zander wants and has gotten mad but those incidents are not very common.

Wow it's been a long time

So obviously I'm slacking on this blog. Zander is now 9 months old and is so cute. He sits up on his own and rolls to the toys he wants. He also is eating everything and anything. He favorite thing is waffles. He is in the process of getting 6 teeth now which will make his total 8. I love his warm personality. Rarely is he cranky and he loves to laugh at all the crazy antics his brother gets into. It's hard to believe he is growing up so fast. He already weighs 18 and half lbs. I don't think he'll be walking anytime soon which is good news for his daddy who sometimes has his hands full. We've been camping a lot and the boys seem to like it. We got a pop up camper in May and it's been a lot of fun.

4 Month Appointment

Today Zander had his 4 month old doctor appointment. Mike-e took him with Logan while I worked. Mike-e said he did a good job and weighed 15lbs 5 oz, was 25 1/4 inches long and his head was 17 inches in diameter. His weight and height were a little above average but his head size was in the 80th percentile. Apparently both my boys have big heads. Zander is so cute and is always laughing and smiling. He also "talks" all the time. He is just such a happy baby and we are lucky to have him.

Love this kid

I just wanted to write about how much I love Zander. He makes my life so much better. I had a bad day today and laying here in bed listening to him "talk" is making it better. He is getting so big and is just adorable. He is a very happy baby and is always smiling or laughing. I love when I get him up in the morning and he greets me with his big open mouth smile. He is such a good baby. He sleeps through the night, is hardly ever cranky, and just makes both Mike-e and I feel better. I love you Baby Z

Going back to work

Today I went back to work for the first time in 12 weeks. It was weird leaving Zander. I'm so used to spending so much time with him. Normally we would sleep in together and that was great. Getting up so early and staying awake is a lot harder. It was nice to get some me time at work. I'm able to work out during lunch and get some adult conversation. I'm happy I enjoy my job because it makes it easier to leave. I get to provide for my family, Mike-e is great with the kids, and I get time for myself.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo trip

The other day we went to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with the boys. I really like that zoo. You get a lot of exercise walking around and Logan loves to feed the giraffes. Baby Z did really well and I was even able to feed him while we were there. Here is a cute picture where his hat shifted on the way down there.

2 months old

Zander is now 2 months old. He is being blessed on Sunday and is getting so big. He had his 2 month check up yesterday and weighed in at 11 lbs. 10 oz. He was in the 60% for weight and 50% for length and 90% for head size. I guess he has a big head. He did pretty well but did not like all the shots (but who does). The doctor said everything looked great. Zander is a great baby and rarely cries. He is now smiling and trying to explore with his hands and feet. He sleeps in a Moses basket next to me in the bedroom and on occasion will let me sleep a whole 7 hours straight. We are so happy to have him in our lives and that he is healthy and happy.

Zander was born at 7:50 am on December 31st. We woke up at 4:30 and got ready to go to the hospital. My dad and my sister came over to watch Logan until he could come to the hospital. It was very early in the morning and I don't think Mike-e slept at all the night before. We arrived at the hospital around 5:30 and got checked in. They put in my I.V. and ran some test to make sure Zander was ok. At 7:15 we went into the operating room and they gave me the drugs to make me numb. They started the surgery and Mike-e recorded when they took Zander out. It was really weird to watch and I'm happy I got to see it. Afterwords Mike-e got to watch them clean up Zander while they started to stitch me back up. My uterus was very thin and I bled a lot. They had Mike-e and Zander go to the nursery while they continued to work on me. At one point, I had lost so much blood they called a code white just in case I would need a transfusion. I wasn't really scared until a nurse from intensive care came over and held my hand. She said I would probably spend the night in intensive care and that freaked me out. Poor Mike-e didn't know what was going on, just that they had called a code a whole bunch of people had ran into my room. I can only imagine how scary that had to be for him. Luckily they were able to stop the bleeding before I need a transfusion. I was transferred to the recovery room where they brought Mike-e and Zander in to visit until we moved into our first room. Zander is so adorable and is such a good baby. He eats really well and hardly ever cries. I'm so lucky to have such a happy and healthy baby.
