Zander is here

Zander was born at 7:50 am on December 31st. We woke up at 4:30 and got ready to go to the hospital. My dad and my sister came over to watch Logan until he could come to the hospital. It was very early in the morning and I don't think Mike-e slept at all the night before. We arrived at the hospital around 5:30 and got checked in. They put in my I.V. and ran some test to make sure Zander was ok. At 7:15 we went into the operating room and they gave me the drugs to make me numb. They started the surgery and Mike-e recorded when they took Zander out. It was really weird to watch and I'm happy I got to see it. Afterwords Mike-e got to watch them clean up Zander while they started to stitch me back up. My uterus was very thin and I bled a lot. They had Mike-e and Zander go to the nursery while they continued to work on me. At one point, I had lost so much blood they called a code white just in case I would need a transfusion. I wasn't really scared until a nurse from intensive care came over and held my hand. She said I would probably spend the night in intensive care and that freaked me out. Poor Mike-e didn't know what was going on, just that they had called a code a whole bunch of people had ran into my room. I can only imagine how scary that had to be for him. Luckily they were able to stop the bleeding before I need a transfusion. I was transferred to the recovery room where they brought Mike-e and Zander in to visit until we moved into our first room. Zander is so adorable and is such a good baby. He eats really well and hardly ever cries. I'm so lucky to have such a happy and healthy baby.

Week 37 Appointment

I had my 37 week appointment today. I'm not dilated but that's a good thing at 37 weeks. Zander has moved down and is starting to get into position. It's kind of exciting because Logan never tried to move into position. It would be nice if I could go into real labor a couple of days before the schedule c-section and he could come the real way. It would make things a lot easier with Logan. Currently I'll be in the hospital for 3 nights and won't be able to see Logan that entire time. Because of the H1N1 scare there are no visitors at the hospital under the age of 18. I also won't be able to pick up Logan after the surgery. If I can have a vaginal delivery I would only be in the hospital for a day maybe two and I'd be able to pick up Logan afterwords. The doctor said there are some things she can do next week or the week after to try and help things along. It will just depend of if my body actually cooperates this time.

36 Weeks, only 3 more to go

Went to the doctor on Wednesday. Zander is doing great and had a heart rate of 140. My blood pressure was really good and the doctor said everything is going as planned. I'm not dilated or anything yet but I wouldn't really be. I've been feeling contractions this pregnancy which I don't remember feeling last time. They are just braxton hicks and are more annoying than anything else. They give me hot flashes and cramping and it's hard to focus at work. There are less than 3 weeks before he comes so I guess I can deal with it.

Getting big

I'm starting to get pretty big and now Logan almost rests on Zander when I pick him up. When Logan tries to sit on my lap now he has to sit more sideways and Zander often kicks where Logan is touching, it's kind if funny.

32 weeks

We have now hit 32 weeks. It's crazy there is only 7 more weeks to go. The time is really flying by. On Friday we went back to the specialist for another ultrasound. Zander is doing great and is about 4.5lbs now. The kidneys looked good and the doctor said there were no issues. It was fun to see him and we got 4D pictures.

Only 9 weeks more to go

Amazingly enough we only have 9 weeks left until Zander is born. This pregnancy seems to be going by a lot quicker than the last one. Of course I have a lot more going on with school, work and Logan. Zander has been moving like crazy. I forgot how cool and weird feeling the baby move is. I've been doing well this pregnancy and have had very little problem. Last week they were concerned about my platelet count and I had to give a lot of blood. I went to the doctor yesterday and they said everything was looking good now. They gave me the vaccination for H1N1 flu virus. It's been a big deal this year and a lot of people have been sick. None of us have been sick so that's been really nice. I'm starting to feel big and getting sick of people comments telling me that I'm starting to look big. I wish they would realize even pregnant women do not want to be considered big. I'm trying to do a better job at watching how much weight I gain in this pregnancy. Last time I gained 50 lbs and I really don't want to do the same this time. The hardest thing is eating healthy at home. Often times when I get home I'm tired and don't feel like making anything and we end up eating junk food. Mike-e and I just need to work harder at eating better. I know I need to post more pictures of myself but I need to actually take some. We just seem a lot busier this time and the pictures don't happen. When I get some I'll update the blog.
